always tastes better in the cellar (2022)
Beringer is one of the oldest wineries in Napa Valley. It is the longest continually-operated winery in California. These caves were hand-chiseled by Chinese laborers. Now we get to drink wine in them!
The first time I did wine tasting in a cellar was as a part of the Italia Innovation program, where one of the groups in my batch worked with the Santa Margerita brand. As a part of the program we visited Ca’del Bosco where we drank bottomless pours of their namesake Franciacorta bubbly. Fuckin’ Iconic.
Anyway, the reason we chose to taste Beringer was because of this wine tasting night that we had in tahoe hosted by a friend where we did a blind wine tasting. Coincidentally, most of us liked the Beringer Knight’s Valley Cab the most, which is a $36 bottle, beating out a super tuscan we had in the mix.
